A typical day in wedding season by Lydia Stamps Photography

Continuing our series of 'wedding season snapshots', we quizzed award-winning photographer Lydia Stamps on what a typical day in the office is like for her come wedding season...

07.30am Get up and make a cuppa, check my emails respond to new enquiries & send out pricing brochures.

8.30am Start editing a collection of eight hundred wedding photographs.

11.30am Have a coffee break and a piece of toast, chat to some photographer friends in online forums.

11.45am Submit a wedding to a blog

12.15pm Package up wedding photographs into a box including a usb of images, some chocolates & a few prints. Write a note to the bride and groom to pop into the package.

12.30 Walk to the post office to post the USB and an image release form for Wedding Ideas Magazine for an upcoming feature.

1pm Nip to the bank to pay in some wedding deposits for new bookings for weddings taking place next year and collect some prints from the printer. 1.40pm Check up on emails again. Schedule an engagement shoot.

2pm Return to editing the wedding I started earlier today.

3.30pm Have a mug of soup, browse social media and catch up on my favourite wedding blogs.

4.15pm Put on batteries to charge and format memory cards for a shoot tomorrow.

4.30pm Work on a second draft of a wedding album. Upload the design to my online proofing area and send it to the couple for approval for print.

6pm Have a Skype chat with a couple interested in booking me for their wedding next year.

8pm Meet one of my couples at the pub for a drink and a catch up to go over their timings, schedule and photography plan for their wedding day next month.

9pm. Head home. Collapse onto the sofa and watch Game of Thrones/House of Cards/Mad Men with my husband and our cat.

Don't miss Lydia's stall at Bridal Bazaar on Sunday 29th March at Winchester Guildhall. Doors open at 11am!

  1. Your schedule is really busy but I am happy that everyone liked your work. Anyway, I am also getting married and planning a wedding at best Hollywood venues. Can you suggest me some good photographer for that as well.
