On a chilly February morning, HBBS co-founders Sarah and Karen arrived at the beautifully decadent Hill Place in Swanmore to go about setting up the second Hampshire Bridal Boot Sale. On Sunday 3rd February, brides and grooms-to-be arrived in their droves to check out what our newly-weds and esteemed local business had on offer.

If you're not familiar, the Hampshire Bridal Boot Sale provides a regular retail experience where those just-married set up shop for the day with anything from dresses to decorated jam jars and tablecloths for local brides to come and peruse. In-between we sprinkle local recommended businesses who offer something a little different to the norm. To name but a few, vintage clothing and home retailers Hepwrights and What Alice Found are regulars, while this edition also welcomed stationer Paper Magpie, props from Old Crocks Vintage and flowers from Blossom and Bird.

This time, Hill Place - a Georgian Villa set deep in the Hampshire countryside (see a little more of the house here) - played the perfect host to the event. Smallpiece Catering made the perfect accompaniment once again, with their pop-up tea room taking over the house's sumptuous dining room. Our 350+ guests perused the stalls and house, while sellers reported making some great connections, not to mention sales! Live make-up and hair tutorials added a little glamour in the upstairs bridal boudoir and downstairs there were unique offerings a plenty; from personalised monograms to made-to-order jewellery and accessories.

There's already plans for the next event, set for June. Watch this space (& Facebook & Twitter) for details of our venue coming very soon! We must say a huge thanks too to our fabulous hosts this time, Hill Place and Smallpiece.
